Wheel Cleaner with Digital Decoder Fitted

Wheel cleaning systems for all H0 track and control systems, analog and digital.
Available as a built-in or tabletop unit
Cleans driven and non-driven wheels of model railway vehicles
Removes oil and dirt residue from the wheels
And thus achieves:
Clean wheel treads on locomotives and wagons
Oil-free traction tires
Functional reliability of model railway vehicles

The H0 wheel cleaning system, powered by track voltage (analog and digital) and therefore drivable,
cleans driven and non-driven wheels of model railway vehicles of oil and dirt residue.
The device is equally suitable for locomotives and carriages and can be integrated into
model railway carriages and driven over by complete trains.

The wheel cleaning system, driven by a 12-volt DC motor (Faulhaber¹), causes two brass rods
coated with polishing material to oscillate beneath the locomotive and wagon wheels.
This results in a cleaning effect on the wheel tread of locomotives and wagons.
The wheel tread, which rolls along the 250 mm long cleaning strip, is thus completely cleaned,
even with larger wheel diameters.

The oscillating motion of the cleaning strips causes the initially stationary locomotive to sink
into the felt lining under its own weight. When a low voltage is applied, the wheels then
rotate while the locomotive remains stationary. Non-driven wheels (e.g., wagon wheels) are
cleaned by the rolling of the wheel treads (movement) on the oscillating polishing material.
For this to occur, the wagon is moved manually or by the pulling or pushing locomotive.
Time-consuming manual cleaning of the wheel treads is eliminated. Your locomotives and
wagons receive clean wheel treads, which enables optimal current collection between
the rail and the wheel.
The wheel cleaning system (polishing rods), driven eccentrically and at a high frequency
by 12 volts (DC), can be fitted with either self-adhesive felt or emery cloth, depending on
the degree of soiling of the wheel surfaces. For particularly stubborn dirt, the felt strips
(part no. 9307) can be moistened with a grease-dissolving substance. Emery cloth
(part no. 9308) should not be used in conjunction with adhesive strips.
To replace the wheel cleaning strips, the brass support profiles (part no. 9302) can be removed
from the unit, the cleaning strips peeled off, and new ones applied.
The motor (Faulhaber1) of the wheel cleaning system is operated with a regulated DC voltage
of 0-12 volts. A suitable supply voltage is provided by:
Adapter board for H0 wheel cleaners, item no. 9304 standard model railway transformers
(please refer to the transformer's technical specifications). The adapter board we offer, item
no. 9304, converts the AC voltage to a DC voltage.
For digital control, the wheel cleaning system is supplied with a system-compatible decoder
(which can also be retrofitted). We can install control-specific decoders upon request
(possibly at an additional cost). Please specify this when ordering.
The cleaning surfaces are identical for both the tabletop and built-in units.
While the built-in unit is integrated into the layout, we deliver the tabletop unit ready for use.
The wheel cleaning system should be installed in an easily accessible location, ideally on
a siding of the model railway. Installation requires a rectangular cutout in the trackbed
measuring 300 mm long, 40 mm wide, and 50 mm high (from the top edge of the trackbed).
